Container transport is a new and advanced mode of transportation. Through this way, we can ensure the safety of goods, shorten the handling time, save the packaging of goods, and simplify transportation procedures, which is a transportation revolution of the20th century. Container logistics development in Zhanjiang City has two characteristics. On the one hand, the rapid development of international trade and hinterland economy stimulates the container logistics development in Zhanjiang City, which brings a big opportunity for the container logistics development in Zhanjiang City. On the other hand, the level of informatization on Zhanjiang container logistics is low, as Zhanjiang City lacks a unified information platform of container logistics. Based on above, the current situation and existing problems of informatization on Zhanjiang container logistics are analyzed, and both of modern logistics theory and cutting-edge information technology are used, and then an information platform of Zhanjiang container logistics is constructed.The specific research thought on constructing the information platform of Zhanjiang container logistics is as follow. First step is to analyze the current situation of informatization on Zhanjiang container logistics from the parts of government, electronic port, customs, logistics companies, wharf and so on. At the same time, the problems faced to improve the informatization level of Zhanjiang logistics are also studied. Second step is to analyze the demand of container logistics information platform, while the analysis of demand is including quantitative prediction of the amount of container logistics in Zhanjiang, and qualitative analysis of platform function demand. The next step is to systematically analyze construction principles, strategic objectives, key technology, function design, logic structure design, and software and hardware design of Zhanjiang container logistics information platform. Among them, the function design includes the functional orientation of platform systems, which include the tracking subsystem of container logistics, customs inspection subsystem, electronic commerce subsystem, EDI center system, industry management subsystem, value-added service subsystem, etc. The final step is to evaluate the construction of Zhanjiang container logistics information platform by using the gray relational comprehensive evaluation method based on entropy rights analysis. Through the analysis, the evaluation result is good, which means the constructing plan is reasonable. Meanwhile, implementation suggestions are given, which could also be used for reference in the information platform construction of other regional container logistics.
