The analysis’s basic standpoint of New Trade Protectionism in post-Crisis era is USfinancial crisis erupts in2007, and the expanding of its negative effect, developing into aserious world-class economic crisis. Domestic economy of main west capitalist countriesslump fiercely, and their demand atrophied with large scale and the industrial competitivepower rapid declined. Under this back ground, the US-led main economies took the lead toinitiate newly round has been for the purpose of saving our country economy, got rid ofeconomic crisis’s trade protectionism policy.The new trade protectionism besides have the characteristic which the tradition tradeprotectionism policy has, but also has some crisis back ground historical characteristics,like the protection goal is to save the country economy or to save one country economy toplace itself outside the economic crisis, protect measures diverse, and has theconfidentiality, the scope protected has expanded and obtains in the region extends and soon.This paper discusses the new characteristics of trade protectionism following thecrisis and its impact on the social and economic development of China and economicglobalization, reviews the emergence and development of trade protectionism,and WTO’sschemes for eliminating trade protection gradually and promoting free trade. Upon all theanalyses,the article puts forward its suggestions to China to make use of the WTOschemes to lessen and eliminate the impact of the crisis and the accompanying tradeprotection measures on its economy.The article is composed of five parts. Part one: makes a simple summary,puts forward theresearch background and significance. Literature review so far the field of tradeprotectionism and proposed in this article the scope of the study and research andtheoretical basis. Par two: Specific analysis of the relevant theory of trade protection,firstly, introduces the history and social and economic circumstances of theories ofmercantilism,the infant industry argument for protection,the hyper-Keynesian policiesand the neo-protectionism in trade policy. Secondly, theoretical analysis on the new trade protectionism. Part three, comprehensive introduction the new manifestations of tradeprotectionism, the characteristics and causes in the post-crisis era. Part four: first, thedemand-supply curve in the short term economic effects of new trade protectionism.Secondly, detailed analysis of the impact of new trade protectionism using the latest data.Part five: Countermeasures to the Trade Protection in the Financial Crisis,puts forward theauthor’s suggestions on measures that could be taken both by the state and businessesagainst the trade protection in the financial crisis.
