With the advent of the era of knowledge economy, knowledge workers become themain carrier of information and the learning ability, and its position becomes increasinglyimportant. At the same time, the common role of the knowledge economy and borderlesscareer, career success of the knowledge of employees is more challenging, the difficultycontinues to increase. How to retain knowledge workers, and give full play to theimportant role of knowledge workers, has become an urgent need to consider the importantissue of corporate managers. And how to achieve self-vocational success, and has alsobecome a major concern of knowledge workers.However, though sorting out the relevant literature shows that current research is oftenfrom the perspective of human capital to explore the knowledge workers how to fullyutilize the intellectual capital and innovation capacity to achieve self-vocational success,but ignored another important aspect to help their career success–social capital. Thisarticle explores the impact mechanism of individual social capital on career success ofknowledge workers, not only helps the enterprises to continue to maintain innovation andnurture a lasting competitive advantage, so that the healthy growth of enterprises in theincreasingly brutal competition in the market; and provide constructive comments forknowledge workers to achieve career success, and provide help for its effective realizationof career success. This study used a questionnaire, empirical analysis and other methodsget the main conclusions include:(1) Individual social capital has a certain impact to theircareer success.The higher relationship and cognitive social capitals, the easier access tocareer success. The structure of social capital had no significant effect on occupationalsuccess.(2) Personal achievement motivation can indeed have some impact onknowledge-based occupational success. Strong personal achievement motivation ofindividual employees, which means a strong desire of the achievement of self, will dopositive efforts to improve their quality, thus leading to good career success.(3) Personalachievement motivation is the mediating variables of social capital and knowledgeworkers’ occupation success. Only through the intermediary role of the individualachievement motivation, the impact of social capital can play better.The innovation of this study is mainly reflected in three aspects:(1) Based onindividual social capital perspective to explore the social capital and knowledge ofoccupational Success Factors, enrich and deepen the study of the relationship betweenknowledge workers and social capital.(2) For personal achievement motivation as a mediating variable, to analysis the mechanism of social capital on knowledge workerscareer success, expand the new ideas to career success of knowledge workers.(3) Build aconceptual model of social capital and career success of knowledge workers association,and do an empirical providing a reference for knowledge workers to achieve professionalsuccess and enterprises improve their core competitiveness.Due to the conditions and capacity constraints, in this study, exists based on givenmoment horizontal research method, sample size is too small and the sample is regional,The author will be deeply and improve these aspects in future studies.
