As the advent of the knowledge and information-oriented new economy era, and along with the growing global financial crisis, knowledge capital gradually substitutes for the the property capital and rises to the strategic resources status, so companies must pay more attention to human capital investment and long-term return. As the core of human capital investment, Career Management has become an important tool to achieve enterprises and individuals win-win, which essence is integration of the talents required for the enterprise, and the ultimate goal is a comprehensive development of staffs and the long-term development of enterprises, that is collaborative career development of the internal and external. Modern enterprises must extend from the incentive mechanism of "interest-oriented" to the dual management of "people-oriented and high-satisfaction".This research is mainly about the relationship between Vocational Delay of Gratificationã€Individual Career Management (including Career Exploration, Career Planning, Dedicated Work, Extended Management), and Career Success (including Career Satisfaction and Career competence) of knowledge employees with certain knowledge, skills and creativity. Through the reliability, the validity examination (factorial analysis), the correlation analysis, the regression analysis, this research’s main conclusion is as follows:(1)The self-compiled questionnaire《VDOG》divided in to three factors:Job delay of gratification,Career delay of gratification and Persistent,Which has a more desirable model fit than the sole dimension, and also has good reliability and validity.(2) Vocational Delay of Gratification and Individual career management are significantly positively correlated. Job delay of gratification and Individual career management are significantly positively correlated; Career delay of gratification,Dedicated Work and Extended Management are significantly positively correlated;Persistent and Career exploration do not achieve a significant return, but the other three dimensions are significantly correlated.(3)Work ethic and Individual career management are significantly positively correlated. Work ethic has the most ethical effect on Extended management,follows by Dedicated work, and finally the Career planning and Career exploration.(4)Individual career management and Career success are significantly positively correlated.The regression result of Career exploration and Career success are not significant; Career planning, Dedicated work, Extended management and Career success have a significant positive correlation.the main predictor variable is Extended management, and Career planning and Dedicated work in the critical level.(5)Vocational Delay of Gratification and Work ethic have the half intermediary role of the inflection of Individual career management to Career success.(6)Through the variance analysis,we know that demographic variables on the Vocational Delay of Gratification and Individual career management are presented as significant difference.Difference of enterprise type on the Vocational Delay of Gratification are presented as significant difference; Gender and difference of duty levels on the Individual career management are presented as significant difference; Other demographic variables on both are not significant. |
