Abstract/Summary:
As a social and cultural activity, tourism attaches a great importance to thespread of human culture. With the continuous development of international tourism,the friction and communication between different cultures as well as various effectsincreasingly attracted widespread attention. Impacts brought by cross-cultural totourist destinations received increasing attention. Tourism development is alsoconsidered from the perspective of tourists, residents affected but often ignored. Ifthe negative impact of tourism development on residents contently acuminate,residents will feel indifferent or even conflict to the development of tourism which isnot conductive to the development of tourism.Based on field research from the primary data for researc h purposes in GannanPrefecture, comprehensive social exchange theory, stakeholder theory, as well as thetourist destination life cycle theory, this paper did a more in-depth empirical researchon residents’ perception of the impact of cross-cultural tourism to explore theresidents aware of individual differences and analyzed factors affectingcross-cultural tourism.This article is divided into six parts. The first part introduces the researchbackground, the significance of the main contents, the methods of the overview andstudy of relevant research. The second part is related to the definition and theoreticalbasis. Related concepts include cross-cultural tourism, tourism impacts, residents’perception, and the culture’s theory, the concept of stakeholders, the tourism area’slife cycle theory and social exchange theory. The third part analyzes tourism impactof cross-cultural from three prospects: the economic impact, environmental impactand socio-cultural impact. And do the analysis again from the perspective ofresidents’ perception. Part IV is the empirical part which takes the Gannan TibetanAutonomous Prefecture for example. Use SPSS software makes a detaileddifferences in perception analysis of cross-cultural tourism’s impact on the touristdestination’s residents. Part V proposes countermeasures against the results of partfour’s analysis. Part VI is Conclusions and Prospects.
