Forestry Industry Assessment In Zheiiang And Its Factors

With the economic development, severe ecological problems are faced by China. Thetradeoff between economic progress and ecological problems is needed to be highly consideredby China. Forestry has an important role in promoting economic growth and protectingecological environment. As one of top social economy and forestry industry developedprovinces in China, Zhejiang is a typical sample to assess forestry industry and its developmentfactors so that commendations are provided for related departments and other provinces aswell.Based on the data of forest inventory, statistical data of forestry industry and national dataof economy, forest resources and major industries of forestry in Zhejiang were evaluated in thispaper with the method of grey relevant degree, models of industrial structure effect andGM(1,1), and means of contribution ratio, pull degree, ICOR, investment ratio, variationdegree of industrial structure.In addtion, factor study of forestry economic growth and SWOTanalysis of forestry were conducted.The findings showed：forest resources increased, standaccumulation is relavant to the total output of forestry industry, age class structure isunreasonable, quanlity of stand is low and variation of forest category reflects the change ofdemand of economic growth; forestry industry made great contribution to the employment inZhejiang; foreign trade had big impact on its growth. Finally, development strategy of forestryindustry was made and measures were raised, such as enhancement of forestry technology,optimization and industrial re-structure, innovation of investment and financing ways, increaseof support to leading enterprise, formation of complete industrial chain, exertion of theassociations and optimization of industrial structure.
