Research Of Y Company Project Requirement Management

As one very important part of project management, requirement management is the base guaranteeing one project to be successfully completed according to willing anticipated by customers as well as the key of quality progress and cost control for the project. However, leaders at all levels from Y Corporation have attached inadequate importance to requirement management for long time and project manager manages current projects only according to basic pattern of project management. Now, customer and Y Corporation have more strictly controlled quality, progress and cost of each project. How to better carry out requirement acquirement, requirement analysis and requirement management and how to handle and summarize requirement change of customers have already become problems which need to be urgently studied by Y Corporation and EPC system network trade. Through study of requirement management (in a broad sense) for one project, it can effectively improve problems such as high cost, low quality and difficulty in control progress for Y Corporation. It also can meet requirements of customers from EPC system network on products, improve satisfaction and loyalty degree of customers, and can promote project management ability of Y Corporation. Aiming at above, based on current study achievement and theoretical frame of CMMI, analysis is made on problems of Y Corporation for requirement management and solution is put forward and applied into actual work. The paper mainly carries out following studies:1) Demonstrate background, meaning, thought, frame and logic for paper study.2) Introduce basic theory of requirement management, including requirement project, CMMI, PMBOK.3) Mainly demonstrates idea, content, target and methods of project requirement management for Y Corporation. Discuss content of project requirement management for Y Corporation, respectively from requirement development (requirement acquirement, requirement definition and requirement analysis), requirement management (requirement confirmation, requirement tracking, requirement change and control) and other areas. Elaborate method and key points of requirement development and requirement management.4) Through combining "Braiding tag auto conversion equipment" project for Y Corporation, demonstrate concrete implementation scheme of project requirement management for Y Corporation, and solutions for problems, display opinion on effective pattern of requirement management for Y Corporation and periodically review requirement management, carry out analysis on requirement stability and change experience of requirement management into knowledge library.So long as we grasp methods and skills of requirement management, we can obtain correct and complete requirement from the start of project, grasp requirement evaluation and confirmation track and control requirement at different stages and technical evaluation points without worrying about change on requirement. So long as we timely find inconsistent requirement, carry out analysis on requirement change affect and strictly carry out according to change process, requirement will be under the control.
