Research On The Food Safety Supervision In China

Food safety has become a hot topic in recent years, and the words about food safety have already become the highest vocabularies which are hit on the web. With the rapid development of the economy, people’s opinions have changed a lot.In order to pursue the maximum economic benefits, some people lose their conscience and produce toxic and harmful food which brings great harm to consumers. Why are they so rampant? It is primly because our country’s food safety regulatory system is not perfect, and the government does not take its responsibility. If we let it go, it will cause serious consequences. Therefore, I research on how to strengthen China’s food safety government supervision has a strong practical significance to the social stability and development.In this paper, I take the food safety supervision as the main research object, and take the public interest theory, government capture theory, and economic regulation theory as a guide. I also use the interdisciplinary research methods, logic research method, comparative analysis and case analysis methods to do the analysis. Firstly, the author does a review about five major food safety cases which happened in china recent years, and points out that these events bring great harm to our people and society, so government regulation is necessary. Then it analyzes our country government supervision of food safety and the status of the existing problems, it is because these problems lead to poor supervision in food safety. If we want to prevent food safety incidents, we must build strong food safety supervision system. At last, the author studies the successful experience of the United States and the European Union, and points that if we want to build a strong regulation of food safety system, we must work hard in regulatory system, supervision technology and the regulation as well as the external environment.Food safety management work is a great project; China’s food safety regulation compared to developed countries is just beginning, so it needs more efforts. Food safety supervision work needs the whole country constantly always working hard.
