Study On Knowledge Management Of Shengli Oil Field Drilling Technology Research Institute

Under the influence of technology development and information explosion, both the socialand the economic system have been changed. An era of knowledge economy giving priority toscience, technology and the knowledge has been established. In this new decade, knowledge isthe most important assets of enterprises and come to be the source of competitive advantage,thus, in order to meet these challenges, it is necessary to manage these important assetknowledge. Shengli Drilling Technology Research Institute (SDTRI) is a knowledge basedenterprise, to run this enterprise smoothly, a huge number of information need to be collectedand transmitted, and the innovative knowledge are also needed to cater its development. In thatcase, knowledge management seemed to be more criticality than other productive factors, Boththe domestic and international competitors in the same field have already dedicated themselvesin knowledge management, under that background, we have no excuse to delay the promotionof SDTRI’s knowledge management. In this study, the thesis and methods knowledgemanagement has been used to study and discuses the concrete issue of SDTRI’s knowledgemanagement.The first part of this study focus on the thesis of knowledge, knowledge management andintellectual capital theory, summarizes the purpose, process, and maturity model and analysismethod, the achievements on running knowledge management of the domestic and internationalcompetitors in the same field also have been introduced. Based on that, we discussed the statusof knowledge management of SDTRI, assesses its maturity level by using the maturity model ofknowledge management, and used SWOT analysis to find its knowledge resources, pointed outthe existing problems and the necessary of knowledge management. Based on our study of thestatus analysis on knowledge management of SDTRI, the thesis proposes implementationscheme of knowledge management. Finally, the measures to be taken for the successfulimplementation have also been discussed.
