Currently, development trend of global economy is changing greatly. The manufacturers of China are facing the double pressures from output inducing and production cost rising. The Chinese Government proposes that the companies change the development method and upgrade. The low end manufacturing firms update to high end ones. The labor intensive enterprises inform to the technology intensive ones. Made in China changes to created in China. Research and development process is one of the most important parts of company reforming. The process of product Research and development is the key process for ODM company which affects develop cycle, quality, cost largely, so there’s an important meaning to study it.The main content of the thesis is the process reengineering of product research and development for the company of Dinghai in Shenzhen. Dinghai company is one of the ODM of the portable computer design and produce. The low customer satisfaction always is a big problem for Dinghai. Through questionnaire survey and interview, it is found that the root cause is the process issues as below. The functional organization structure make project management failed because of the selfness departmentalism;The process operation is under the serial mode, which extends the development cycle; It leads to rework frequently and quality rejected that Dinghai don’t implement stage control effectively;Products data is lack of management and isn’t shared, which affect the efficiency of development etc.The thesis deeply studied the development issues and put forward the solutions according to the BPR, SGP and CE correlation theory and technology. The solutions summarize as below:The departmental organization structure changes to flow process organization; Serial mode changes to Concurrent mode;Implement the stage control following the SGP; Enhance to manage the product data through introducing the PDM system etc. It analyzed and summarized the detailed implementation procedure and preparation, implementation difficulties and its solutions, post evaluation and continuous improvement and so on.At the end of the thesis, it showed the research results. On the other hand, it also pointed out the shortages which need be studied in the future.
