With the rapid development of science and technology, products upgraded faster.In order to deal with the challenge of changing market requirement, increaseproductivity and reduce production cost, companies need more automated equipments.At the same time, with instant development of automatics, it is possible to free peoplefrom the dangerous and hard working environment. The market demands of automaticdedicated machines are in great demand. The main feature of this kind of machine isto design and fabricate according to actual requirement of customer. This kind ofmachine can not go to mass production, typically the quantity is just one unit orseveral units and lead time is extremely short. The R&D process of this kind ofmachine is quite different from standard products, it requires extremely high standardfor R&D management. It requires that corporation must establish perfect R&Dprocess and quality system to ensure the quality of the product to meet customers’requirement.YTM Company is from Europe. This company is a small company whichspecialized to make customized equipment for customers. This company has suppliedmachines and production lines for many big enterprises including the fortune500enterprises world-wide. The products research and development rely on mainstay oftechnicians. Although the company already builds up R&D process, but the design ofR&D process is simple and coarse, and it also not be implemented very well, it leadsto design defects of product and dissatisfaction of customers. The purpose of writingthe thesis is to find out the defects of R&D process management by analyzingactuality of YTM Company R&D process management. Based on investigation andresearch, with the direction of stage gate R&D process and concurrent engineeringtheory, it brings forward the R&D process and scheme of implement,try to help YTMCompany break through the bottleneck of R&D process management. The weak R&Dmanagement of small size equipment manufacturers is ubiquitous. By researching theR&D process of YTM Company, hope the thesis can be used for reference to Chinese small size equipment manufacturers.Firstly, the thesis introduces the background, purpose and method of the research.Then the thesis describes the theory of R&D process management, introduces thestage gate process, concurrent engineering theory and lean R&D process. Thesetheories provide theoretical basis for the design of the company R&D process. Thethesis introduces the industrial profile of customized equipments and the survey ofR&D process management of YTM Company. The thesis points out the problems ofR&D process management of the company by analyze the R&D cases. Aimed at theseproblems, the thesis submits ameliorated scheme for the R&D process, and alsosuggests building up new organization structure to meet the new R&D process.Finally, the thesis plots the implement of new process. The thesis emphasizes theimportance of corporate culture to innovation, suggests promoting the implement ofnew process by training and performance management.
