What the thesis study is a part of the project of " Product Digital Industrial Design Platform-Development for Product Innovation and Application of Electric-Driving Tool/Air-Driving Tool Product- Development". According to the enterprises, as well as the characteristics of the project, the Pro/Engineer is utilized as the platform of CAD and the idea of top-down design technology is applied.The main researches of this thesis includes the following four aspects:1. The problems of the Air-Driving Tool Design technological process are expounded by analysing its whole industrial design process. Then the every stage of the concrete design process was analyzed according to design process, characteristics of air nailer’s industrial design and product structure-tree, and the basic principles are searched. Finally,A top-down method on three-dimensional parametric industrial design is brought forward.2.The parameters of top-down design was studied in the article. By the analysis of the basic elements constraints and characteristics of the parameters design, the application methods and procedure of the parameters design is studied; In accordance with the features of air nailer components, the implementation of parameters process is presented. And the basic elements of top-down design are elucidated.3. The parameters design flow of air nailer base on the top-down technique are studied. The transfer coherence of design information was guaranteed by layout design and skeleton model.The evaluation of parameter models of air nailer contains the analysis of surface quality,the analysis of assemblability and manufacturability of models.4. Process of structure model database is analyzed based on structure and abstract levels of air nailer model, the system of model database and integration realization problem also researched based on pro/e.To base on the idea of top-down design and to use the method of parameters design, the thesis has the signifcant meaning of improving the design efficiency and lever of the air nailer parameter model design.
