With the development of3D modeling technologies and computer technologies, moreand more products of secondary development are in application. So far the CAD technologiesin design of high-speed EMU mainly focus on the modeling of three-dimensional solid, finiteelement analysis and the establishment of standard parts library, nevertheless, the car modellibrary development is still at the exploratory stage.Therefore, in this thesis, a3D modellibrary is built and developed based on the car body for the rapid design system.The mainissues in this thesis are investigated as follows:Firstly, structure features of the car body model are analyzed. The car model is dividedinto the aluminum model, the overall model, commonly used model and user-defined feature.The parameterized template model is created under the Pro/E system. The database ofdesigning parameters is established by using Microsoft Access.Secondly, accoring to structural features of the car body model, the secondarydevelopment methods of Pro/E are studied. The method of constructing library based onfamily Table and the defining of user features are combined with the technology ofPro/Toolkit application.Thirdly, the visualized and friendly interfaces are developed by using Pro/Toolkitapplication under VC++compiler environment. At the same time, the communicationamong the Pro/E system, user interface and the database have been realized by the using ofdynamic link library(DLL) and the ADO database access interface technology.Finally, The overall model library is established by means of the parametric technologyand automated assembly technology, the variant design and auto-body assembly are realized.Meanwhile, a UDF library is created by the use of UDF combining with Pro/Toolkit interfacetechnology, it is realized that the hole feature could be automaticly inserted in right placewhich solve the problem of repeating modeling of chassis holes. By combining of FamilyTable and Pro/Toolkit interface technology, the aluminum library is established which made itmore effective management. Creating common parts library is used for assemble in car body.Reseach results show that it is convenient for the user to call the models direct for thecar body rapid design system. The model library can also be extended based on user demandwhich helps to solve the problems caused by the lack of effective management and repeatingmodeling, and which realize the serialized design that would improve the design efficiencyand design quality.
