| On June19th1958, Beijing TV Station, precursor of CCTV. successfully live-broadcasted the friendly matches between Bayi and Beijing men’s and women’s basketball teams for the first time. As the first Chinese TV sports broadcasting, it is recorded in history for ever. From the first Chinese TV sports broadcasting in1958, to just finished London Olympic live broadcasting in2012, Chinese sports broadcasting has gone through more than half a century, faithfully recording the ups and downs of Chinese sports as well as the macro and details of world sports. As the authoritative representative of Chinese TV station, the development of CCTV is closely related to that of Chinese sports cause. CCTV sports broadcasting from both home and abroad not only offers useful experience to Chinese sports development, but also provides a firm platform for the promotion and commercialization of sports events both domestic and overseas, thanks to its powerful propagation effect and profound influence. Therefore, the current thesis which reviews the history of CCTV sports broadcasting fills the blank of research on CCTV sports broadcasting history. Based on typical-cases analysis, this thesis also provides useful reference to Chinese sports broadcasting and the sports cause as well as to the further development of CCTV, optimizing its broadcasting standard.According to the above guiding ideology, this thesis researches on CCTV sports broadcasting history chronologically with some typical events. Chapter one is the introduction part. It explains characteristics of the selected topic and its point of view as well as the research status, methodology and significance. Chapter two researches on sports broadcasting from the premiere of former Beijing TV Station to the foundation of CCTV sports channel in1995. Special attention is paid on great sports events broadcasted after the foundation of CCTV in1978. This chapter is to investigate the development of sports broadcasting and its influence on popular audience, on the background of Chinese social revolution. Chapter three expounds on the development of various CCTV sports channels represented by CCTV-5, under the background of channel specialization. The developing status of local specialized sports channels is also compared to illustrate the superiority of CCTV sports channels. Chapter four discusses the transformation of CCTV sports channels after the coming of network era and the rising of various new media. It is to research on the new media approach of CCTV sports channels. Chapter five summarizes the more than half a century history of CCTV sports broadcasting. Combined with nowadays worldwide sports broadcasting tendency, this chapter also prospects the future development of CCTV sports broadcasting. |
