Design And Implementation Of Barcode Scanner Based On Android Platform

With the rapid development of electronic computer science and technology,barcode technology was emerged as a kind of automatic identification technology. Barcode technology is widely applied in all walks of life with its outstanding features that it is fast to capture data and it is convenient,reliable and low cost to use.It has been used in the commercial, storage, post and telecommunications, transportation, library management, health care, ticket, industrial production process control, logistics and distribution, as well as military equipment, engineering projects of national economy,all walks of life and people’s daily lives. Barcode technology has evolved into an industry, more and more countries in the world engaged in the research and development of bar code technology and its products unit manufacturers. Barcode technology products became increasingly high level of technology and rich species,to nearly thousands numbers.In recent years,smart phones are more and more popularized.In particular,android os is open and customizable.What’s more,its friendly user experience and excellent development ecosystem make android os the first class smart phone operating system.So combining barcode technology and android to develop a barcode scanner software on android platform will make barcode more popularized,which will facilitate personal and enterprise data information exchange.In this paper,such a kind of barcode scanner software was designed and developed. This paper describes the basic concepts of barcode technology, and analysis of its technical classification and characteristics, then it makes a brief introduction to the android platform, further more, it presents the details of barcode scanner software UI, functions and implementation contents. In the end, this paper emphasize on how to complete decoding functionality. And then, make an analysis of the information security issues in e-commerce ticket application based on two-dimensional barcode technology.At last, it makes a comprehensive test for the accuracy stability and performance of decoding. The test results can be used to be the reference for revising this software. And the result illustrated that this barcode scanner software works great and has a high stability and scanning performance. So it can be applied to barcode scanning utility.The major works in the paper are as follows:1.Introducing barcode technology overview,barcode technology development history, barcode classification and features, applications and prospectations.2.Make a summary of android platform,smartphone platform,android development history,it’s framework and developing methods.3.Design and implementation of barcode scanner software based on android platform, including needs analysis of android based barcode scanning software, division of the functions, the design of the user interface and full functionality of the code.4. Analysis and design of the barcode security technology of the two-dimensional barcode in the application of e-commerce ticket, electronic ticket validation, two-dimensional bar code encryption, digital watermarking, and finally the overall safety analysis.5.Design the testing experiments of accuracy, stability and scanning decoding performance of such barcode scanning software,and made a detailed test of it.
