On Detection Method Of Commercial Barcode Structural Characteristic Quality Based On Machinery Vision

As a kind of simple,convenient,inexpensive,high-speed information preservation and transmission technology,commercial barcode is widely used all over the world with the rapid development of commodity market.And as the permit of commodity entry,commercial barcode must be correctly read to ensure its effective circulation.So it should be tested before entering the market.The parameter of commercial barcode's print quality mainly uses barcode detector and manual measurement,then evaluated according the national standard.But this method has its shortcomings:(i)Barcode detector needs high using environment for it's a kind of precise measuring instrument;(ii)Barcode detector needs high quality sample.(iii)The measuring process is pains taking and time consuming;(iv)The part of manual measurement is easily influenced by human factors.To solve these problems,it's necessary to develop a kind of procedure to measure the parameters of commercial barcode precisely and efficiently.So this paper studied and analyzed the parameters of barcode's print quality structural characteristic as follows.1)A kind of image acquisition device is designed for acquiring the corresponding unmeasured images of barcode.2)Calibrate the camera with target image,and achieve the corner coordinates and calibrating values based on detecting algorithms,respectively.3)Gray processing and edge detection of target image and unmeasured images are handled.The region of barcode is roughly obtained by feature matching of images.Moreover the gray processing and image corrosion of the barcodes are done after feature matching.Then the barcode images are pre-split according to the outline and split accurately throughout all pixels,which are refined by Hough transformation.4)The Canny edge detection of "accurate-split" images are applied on the reflection of horizontal and vertical direction,from which features of commercial barcode quality are calculated,including Z-dimension.Bar height,Left blank width,Right blank width,Number height.5)A barcode detection system is constructed under Visual studio 2010 with OpenCV.The comparison and analysis from Barcode quality inspection center of Shaanxi Province are presented to demonstrate the performance and effectiveness.
