2D Barcode Recognition And Decode On DSP Platform

The 2Dimention barcode is applied more and more both in our life and industry. That's because it owns the characteristics such as good capacity of information storage, high confidentiality, easy to track, hard to lose, large reserve cache and lower cost. Datamatrix is a 2D barcode in the type of matrix. Its smallest size is now the tiniest of all the barcodes that makes it compatible used especially on the mini productions. Datamatrix's development plan is to became smaller in size while lager in capacity.The assignment of the paper is researching the decoding terminal of 2D barcode based of DSP platform. This terminal can read and decode 2D barcode such as Datamatrix barcode and one dimension barcode.The core of hardware platform of the system is TI's high performance floating DSP-TMS320C6713BGDPSP which is corporate by SRAM as periphery to store the image; and the control circuit is implemented by CPLD. It adopt an acquisition camera named QUADRUS MINI Imager which is produced by Microscan as front-end to get the barcode image.The papers especially discusses the technology of decoding and error correction of Datamatrix barcode. First, it introduced Datamatrix's configuration characters and pretreatment of image. Study on boundary tracking arithmetic, orientation the barcode and emendation the slope image according to coordinate conversion; and then particularly dissertate about decoding and error correction. Decoding the barcode in use of module scan lines and correct the error code words during the progress which can improve the decoding rate. At last, optimize the software based on the characters of DSP.After testing, we get a terminal which is stable and decode every aspect of Datamatrix barcode. It's good at error correction too. And the speed and rate are all keeping ahead inland.
