Network size has grown large and complex, which makes it more difficult to manage network, allocate resource, locate fault. The new network application appears constantly, which need the support of new protocols and services, but the function of transport nodes in the network (including routers and switches) is relatively fixed, which make the launch on protocols and services always can’t keep up with the steps of application. In this context, the adaptive, dynamic and intelligent network should be researched on the basis of traditional Internet architecture.Active Network is a kind of research direction, Active network is a kind of new network structure which allow intermediate node (e.g., routers, switches, etc.) to be programmed by users. Active network node with intelligent is sensitive to application, which can provide different services for different applications. Active network has strong vitality, which is self-replicative, self-regenerative, self-developmental and self-protective. So, the structure and behavior of active network no longer depends on static Settings, but changes situation according to the dynamic. In recent years, especially, after the platform-independent language such as Java appearing, a lot of research on active network has been carried out. Which purpose is to achieve a programmable virtual network of intermediate node, to increase the flexibility of the network programming, to solve problems which is difficult to solve by traditional network such as virtual private networks (VPNS), dynamic filtration, congestion control, network dynamic monitoring.This paper mainly focuses on the network dynamic monitoring mentioned above, namely the dynamic monitoring and dynamic management of network service state. Timely and intuitive display of network service state has very important value for network management. Network service IntelliSense and visual mechanism based on the active-push technology was researched and realized in this paper, main research is as follows:1) Unified network element state model was presented:using SNMP related calls, real-time awareness of state changes was realized according to the corresponding setting.2) Based on the awareness, event-driven push mechanism was realized and the network service state changes was visual displayed timely.
