The group polarization refers to the existing tendency strengthened by the interaction between the members of the group, and after discussion the view in the group shift toward a more extreme direction. In the areas of internet and newly communication technology, the original radical point of view will stay the same but more adventurous in form. This phenomenon has already existed in nowadays social groups, and rapidly extends to the society of network. On the internet, netizens express their reproduction, discussion and evaluation in a focus of social hot issues and topics through micro blog, blog and BBS platform, and then groups’views become acute, conservative, the network group polarization forming. It contains positive effects and negative effects. The network group polarization leads to network violet because of its provinciality and extremes, and network mop is one of negative effects refer to network group polarization. Network violet floods everywhere, distorts the true public opinion in the network, harms the network ecological civilization and threatens social stability.The study integrates use of social psychology, communication, political science and other knowledge, first of all, focus of the induction and generalization of the concepts of group polarization; and then defining the concept of network mob phenomenon after finding the same points of network group polarization and network mop; thirdly, exploring the causes of the phenomenon and making certain its polarization tendency; finally, forming a clear, objective and comprehensive understanding, furthermore, focusing on the suggestion to solve the network mob phenomenon, like refactoring ecological civilization, constructing a governance model including government, netizens, media and legislative institution.
