The Application Of ZigBee Technology In The Intelligent Production Management System

The production management system is becoming more and more intelligent with the expansion of production scale. In the intelligent production management system, the data can be transmitted through wire network or wireless network. Network may be in-time and accurate. However, wire transmission also causes some problems. For example, the arrangement of wire is a tough job and the maintenance of wire network costs much money. Because of those problems, wireless transmission begins to call people’s attention. Comparing to wire transmission, wireless transmission reduces the cost, in the meantime, transmitting the data in real-time as well as accurately, which makes the wireless way to be the chief choice of communication in production management system.ZigBee wireless technology is the leading global standard for implementing low-cost,low-data-rate, short-range wireless network. Considering those characteristics, ZigBee is chosen to set up the wireless network in intelligent production management system. And also, an interface is designed to display the information of produce and staff. Some work is done as follows:(1) The equipment platform and the software platform are built based on the consideration of data rate and transmitting distance.(2) The function of data transmitting is programmed in the APS layer and the HAL layer of the Z-Stack. More over, the retransmission mechanism is designed to ensure the exactitude of data transmitting.(3) An interface is design to display the information of production, through which the administer can keep watch on the produce progress and the staff information.(4) By testing with RFID and data base, the system achieves the function that the data can be transmitted and displayed automatically.As an important part of the intelligent production management system, the object tends to be meaningful for the research of wireless data transmission in production management system.
