In field of the glass thickness measurement, the traditional manual offline measurement technique has been unable to meet production requirements. With the rapid development of industrial modernization, Domestic and foreign scholars have done a lot of research on dynamic non-contact measurement technology, among these the most popular is the method of photoelectric measuring.Currently, the use of optics thickness measurement methods are mainly reflection method and transmission method. This article on the basis of the reflection method, raise a new glass thickness measurement method.This article based linear laser characteristics, according to optical plane mirror imaging principle, through collecting the imaging of the light source in the upper and lower surfaces of the glass calculate glass thickness. The whole measuring system is composed of two parts by the optical system and a computer vision system, The optical system through building the optical path generate the optical information required for the measurement of the thickness of the glass. Computer vision systems using CCD convert the optical information through the lens into analog signal.Then,using image acquisition card transfer the collected image information to computer.Next, putting VC++as a development platform, complete the system image feature extraction, feature calculation, the speckle processing and the man-machine interface of the system. Finally,through building the experimental platform and debugging the system, to complete the online measurement of the thickness of the glass. Currently, the measurement precision of the glass thickness up to0.01mm, and the measurement error in the national standard deviation the allowable rangeThe research of glass thickness measurement technology is a meaningful problem, The use of laser, CCD and digital image processing techniques to measure contains a series of advantages including dynamic non-contact, simple operation, easy computer processing. In the same time, the glass thickness measurement techniques based on the principle of a plane mirror imaging present in this paper further to overcome the glass surface defect spots on the measurement results. Therefore, this research project glass thickness measurement system has great practical significance and practical value.
