Blower is the core power equipment in the blast furnace process and is known as the heart of the blast furnace equipment. Blower provides stable and reliable gas for the blast furnace. Surge is an instability flow condition when the blower working at low flux. Surge, if not to take measures, will do severe damage to blower instantly and result in huge economic losses. In traditional anti-surge control method, there are always some deviations in anti-surge curve due to the changes in temperature. Meanwhile, the design of the anti-surge valve is not precise enough to keep operation safely. This method is also a waste of energy because the anti-surge valve opens too large. To solve the problems of traditional anti-surge control method, this paper puts forward a method which can operate without temperature correction to anti-surge curve. It can also accurately account the opening of anti-surge valve.Followings are the main contents:1. Analyzing the performance curves of the blower, pipeline system, operating point of the blower, decision mechanism of blower surge, judgment of surge and the influence factors of surge. And introducing the theory of preventing surge control of blast furnace blower, it is ready for the design of anti-surge control.2. Using the similarity theory of compressor, the mass energy theory and the passive control approaches to establish a centrifugal blower as an anti-surge control model. The control model uses temperature as a parameter to calculate the surge margin, so there is no need of temperature compensation, and its adaptability is stronger than the old one.3. Designing the fuzzy inference system of the anti-surge valve. Combining the designed control method, calculating the anti-surge valveā€™s opening of next time rely on the distance between the current working point and the surge point, and the current anti-surge valve. This method enables the blower to operate steadily by the least opening of the anti-surge valve when system need to anti-surge control.4. In the MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform, using the compressor MG model to simulate the operation conditions of the blower, and to calculate the performance parameters of the blower, build the simulation platform for anti-surge control system and simulate the anti-surge control method which is designed in this paper.
