Infrared technical has extended greatly human visual field and ways obtaining information resource along with its developing and mature. Infrared thermal imaging technology has been applied widely in civil and military domains. Germanium became the preferred material for infrared optical system by means of upstanding infrared performance. Due to growing demand, processing efficiency and quality for germanium lens is getting higher and higher.Super-finishing technology is one new processing method for germanium lens and has get upstanding success. While traditional processing method for germanium lens is also used widely due to the advantages in equipment, operator and economic depending on the actual situation in domestic and in our company, so there is great real significance for studying classical processing method in germanium lens.In this paper, study completely and systematically a classical processing technology for germanium lens based on a front lens (germanium monocrystal) in an infrared optical system. Analyze the main factors affecting processing efficiency and quality for germanium lens. Give some ways to improve processing efficiency and quality for germanium lens by adjusting and optimizing main technological process and operation procedure. Statistical data from quality inspection department shows that qualified rate of germanium lens by inspecting has increased to80%from70%. After repairing, general qualified rate of components increased3%, up to more than99%.
