High Orbit Collimating Infrared Earth Simulator is the most important equipment for testing the earth sensor on the ground. The precision of the satellite’s working depends on the testing of the earth sensor. In order to improve the test and precision calibration of the infrared earth sensor on the ground, to make the earth simulator achieve the precise purpose, the paper discusses about the optical system of earth simulator. The scheme is to put earth aperture on the focal plane of the germanium lens, to get the parallel light to arrived to the earth sensor. And based on the requirement of ground earth sensor, the paper design a scheme of changing the earth diaphragm, aiming at the satellite synchronous orbit height, higher orbit and lower orbit. The experiments’results show that we can get clearly image of the margin of the earth simulator. And the errors of the three types of the earth angles are all under±0.05°. On the ground, the earth simulator can precisely simulate what the satellite sees about the earth in the space, and required all the performance.
