Development On Double Face Centring Device For Infrared Lens

A new vertical edge grinding device with double face centring for infrared lens is introduced in this paper, which is mainly used for grinding infrared lens with large diameter to decrease a declination between geometrical center of spherical lens and its optical center and improve imaging quality of optical system. Requirement to center error of infrared lens is getting higher and higher in recent years. The center error in many infrared lens with medium and large diameter is required to less than0.01mm, ordinary centring method and edge grinding device can’t meet the center error requirement of infrared lens. With the development of infrared, infrared lens is more and more extensive application, demand is also more and more. Therefore, it has a higher application value in Engineering to development of a vertical edge grinding device with double face centring.It is subject to the vertical edge grinding device as a research object, emphases the combination of mechanical and optical to achieve double face centring for infrared lens as research importance. By means of innovatory design, combined with successful experience of the existing grinding device for infrared lens with small and medium diameter, a vertical edge grinding device with a single arm intermittent feed and CCD imaging double optical centring is designed, the effects of weight to center error of infrared lens with medium and large diameter by horizontal edging has been resolved, The center error of germanium lens of the diameter of80～180mm can be reached0.01mm.It improves the centring accuracy and efficiency, reduce labor intensity.
