With the development of digital image processing technology, and the acceleration of the construction of modern information society, the video image processing systems are widely used in military and civilian fields. Especially in recent years, the development of DSP technology continue to convert the field of digital image processing theory research to practical applications, and promote the development of video image processing field. So it has a great significance for the study of the video image processing platform.In this paper, take the development of a weapons platform as the background, mainly study one of the core components of the platform--video image processing platform based on DSP technology. This article makes a detailed analysis of the system functional requirements and technical indicators, gives the video image processing system design scheme, and according to the scheme, realized each module of the hardware design, the software-driven design and debug.According to the system functional requirements. The video image processing platform uses TMS320DM642chip of TI company as the core processor. The video decoder and encoder use SAA7113H and SAA7121H chip of Philips company. This article introduces the design of each hardware platform module in detail, and systematically introduces the software design of the video image processing platform, including DM642initialization, driver design of video encoder and decoder module, communication module. CAN module and CPCI module, etc. The video image processing platform uses CAN bus for information interaction with the host computer, at the same time. in order to solve the system vibration caused by the motion of the problem, the platform uses the CPCI interface with the host computer for sending the video information. uses CPLD module to do the timing and logic control. Finally, complete hardware and software debugging, achieved the design goal.Video image processing system designed in the paper. can accomplish the video image capture, transmission and display successfully, and can complete the real-time image transmission on the platform through CPCI interface, can realize real-time information exchange through the CAN bus and platforms. Each function module meets the weapon platform design requirements of video image system. At present the image processing system is involved in the whole system integration and alignment, the work is in good condition.
