| Nowadays, embedded system is applied in more and more fields such as industry, military, medical treatment, consumer electronics and internet communication. With the great development of the digital video technology, the combination of digital video and embedded system is making fundamental changes in the field of embedded.This research aims to design a wholly digital video hardware and software platform for next application. Embedded Digital Video System Based on PXA255 & TMS320DM642 is presented in this paper. The system take the advantages of high and stable performance of ARM processor and DSP's excellent capability of audio/video processing to meet graphic operation system and muti-media needs. The system also puts high-performance display controller SM501, Ethernet and many kinds of interface together to form a complete hardware platform support the software development.Under the architecture of ARM+DSP, circuit diagram design, PCB design, hardware debug is completed; finally, the research develops the PXA255+TMS320DM642 Developing Board. According to the hardware features, embedded operation system is developed. Especially, the immigration of Embedded Linux operation system, including Bootloader development, Linux kernel immigration and root file system installation, is completed. Additionally, some research of Bootloader is made for Windows CE.net on Platform Builder.After hardware design and operation system development, some studies on Graphic User Interface based on SM501 implement on Linux operation system is made. Complete the Graphic realization on Linux operation system. Graphical display provides a nice interface of application software.Research completes the whole procedure of embedded system design including system design, PCB board design, embedded operation system immigration and application software development. PXA255+TMS320DM642 Embedded Digital System can facilitate flexibly in developing digital product of audio/video coding/decoding and many applications. |
