Deep space exploration is the first step into the unknown deep space of human, and will be one of the hallmarks of the country's core competitiveness in the future. Radio science receiver is the basis for the development of the deep space exploration technology. It can receive the signal from the satellite or the broadband signal in the universe, and convert these signals down, then process them, and finally store them. The processed data can be provided to the researchers, to determine the orbit of satellite, or calculate the characteristics of stars in the universe, and so on.On the base of the analysis of the radio science receiver structures, this article proposes a software defined radio receiver based on CPCI interface and laminated structure. This system has advantages of good mechanical stability, reliability, high integration, and high bandwidth of output data. This system can be separated into three hardware platforms with different function:ADC platform?digital signal processing platform and control platform. ADC platform is responsible for making the intermediate frequency analog signal into a digital signal. Digital signal processing platform is for the signal further down-sampling, and storing in accordance with the specified format. Control platform complete control operation of the entire system, including the initial configuration FPGA, clock module control, ADC module control remote control systems and so on. The control platform makes use of CPLD to finish the initialization configuration of FPGA, clock module control and ADC module control, uses the dedicated chip to finish the data communication between PCI bus and local bus, and uses the bidirectional level converter module to match the electric level between PCI bus and local bus.In the aspect of software design, the design of software system is finished. The software of system can be divided into three parts:system control software module, bus communication module and the operating system kernel. In the system control software module, it uses the interface unit as the middle part between interface and the hardware control unit, thus avoiding users facing the complexities of the underlying hardware design details; In the bus communication module, it finishes the data transmission between the local bus and PCI bus by DMA mode; And it used linux operating system of 3.2 version as a carrier of the entire system software platform.
