The Small custom made wireless I/O system is an embedded system which is used in welding industry site to collect data. Its function is to spot welding process data (such as welding current, welding voltage and workpiece speed, etc.), to upper management computer through wireless network technology. The upper computer then display, storage and analysis the data obtained by the system and determine whether welding process is abnormal. It can monitor the welding process in real-time, thereby ensuring the quality of welding. Several Wireless I/O systems together with wireless gateway, wireless routing nodes and upper management computer form the entire welding quality monitoring system.For the actual needs of the project of Shanghai Electric Co., the SIPAI designs a set of welding quality monitoring system, my task is to complete the hardware design, software design, debugging and field testing and operation for the small custom made wireless I/O system.This project is to design and develop a dedicated I/O system for the welding industry and it runs well in the real field. This paper first introduces the actual demand of the industrial field welding data collection, and knowledge of the welding process, the data acquisition system and industrial wireless communication network, followed by the introduction of the overall design of the wireless I/O system, then followed by the hardware and software implementation of the system, the last part is the actual operation in the field for the entire system. From the final results of the actual operation in the industrial field, it is able to meet the actual requirements of the welding quality monitoring system, and this system achieves the desired effect.
