Using the principle of infrared radiation and the techniques of analogy and digital signal processing, the distribution information of object is displayed clearly in image by the infrared thermal imager based on embedded software and hardware system. Thus, the infrared thermal imager has been widely applied into the industries, militaries and safe production. In this paper, the infrared thermal imaging embedded system based on the technique of ARM+FPGA SOC is developed, and the core controller of this system is Cyclone V SoC presented by Altera.In this paper, the main work is focused on the design of the embedded system software and hardware platform. First, for the specific requirements of the uncooled infrared focal plane detector GWIR0202X1A, based on the Cyclone V SOC features, this paper completed the design of the infrared thermal imager embedded system hardware platform, including infrared thermal imager core processing board, system power supply board, TEC drive circuit and infrared focal plane drive circuit board design, such as core processing board including SDRAM memory module design, SD card storage module design, UART module design, video DAC module design, etc, completed the high-speed multi-layer PCB layout design, and the actual PCB plate making.Secondly, based on the system of hardware circuit platform carried out the design of the infrared thermal imager software system, the main content of this part includes the infrared thermal imager SOC system model design and embedded Linux operating system, the former mainly including the choice of Altera IP, ir related IP module design, HPS (hard core processor system) configuration, SOC system models connection; The latter including the production and transplantation of the Preloader (second program loader), DTB (Device Tree Blob), U-boot, the Linux kernel and root file system, etc.Finally, based on the infrared thermal imager embedded software and hardware platform completed the tests of various modules of the system, the concrete content includes:power system test, SDRAM memory module test, the LED and buttons test, AD_RAM module test and video DAC output module test, verified the feasibility of infrared thermal imager system based on the Cyclone V SOC embedded software and hardware platform, prepared technology base for the development of new type of uncooled thermal imaging.
