With the modernization of scientific and technological progress and social development, people’s quality of life and demand continue to increasing, power consumption also will be increased dramatically, and raised higher demands for the power grid safety and reliability. Electricity transmission and distribution can not be separated from overhead high voltage transmission lines, high-voltage overhead towers, and transmission cables are widely distributed, and its work good or bad determines the safety and efficiency of the electricity system. With the growing long-term, the tower by natural factors such as the dark clouds, and in recent years, mineral extraction caused different patterns of underground goaf areas of human factors, the light can cause cracking, tilting tower deformation, and in serious cases cause the tower dumping, collapse, which will lose the safe operation of the grid pose a great threat to people’s lives and property losses. The normal work of the tower single artificial inspections, will spend a lot of manpower and material resources, but also by the geographical impact of some towers can not be found, there is a significant security risk.This topic using the hybrid network communication technology program of ZigBee and GSM, designed for real-time monitoring system of transmission line towers tilt. The system is a prevention based on scientific management, timely and accurate measurement of the tower tilt angle, and timely report to the management center. The system can remotely monitor the input power distribution tower being normal under the influence of natural and human factors, so that preventive measures to further ensure the security and stability of the grid.This article introduced transmission line towers tilt monitoring system from the six areas:The first part introduces the research background and significance of the system, the dynamic of domestic and international research; The second part describes the ZigBee and GSM communication technology; The third section describes the hardware design of the system; The fourth section describes the software design of the system; The fifth section describes the system implementation; The sixth section give a summary and outlook of the system.
