With the present development of the information society, competition between enterprisesincreases more and more fiercely, so how to make correct decision analysis in the fierce marketcompetition seems essential for enterprises. In present society, the amount of information islarge, and the decision-makers of enterprises found that they can’t make correct judgment for allkinds of objectives with personal decision only. One mistake of the decision-makers may bringimmeasurable losses to the enterprises, and even bankruptcy. Using computer technology, toestablish decision-support system and give the enterprises support decision gain more and moreattention from the enterprises decision-makers.The traditional decision-support system uses model and knowledge resources to supportdecision, but the new style decision-support system uses data. The relation between the two isnot alternative, but complementary. The traditional decision-support system can’t becontempted because of setback. The combined decision-support system with both of them willbe the development direction of decision-support system.This thesis focused on the design and implementation of decision support system for thebuilding material company, and the research of decision support system technology. Based onthe analysis of development status and trends of building materials industry informationtechnology in China, DSS(Decision Support System) has been designed and developed inGLOBAL Building Materials Company Limited as a subject background, and at the meantime,the demand analysis and the feasibility analysis of this project have been made from the staff,technical and economic aspects. Based on three layers of the C/S model for various techniquesof further research, including ADO.NET database connection through component method, usingthe backend database management to realize data uploading, transferring, and statistical analysis.From the actual system requirement, under the guidance of UML modeling, and with the helpof the basic component of NET, the decision support system based on network, which issuitable for the characteristics of the company, has been developed recently.In this thesis, the main innovation is to realize a sales-decision-support system for aenterprise using the combination of multiple models and databases within network environment.The characteristic of the system is a combination of multiple models, using thisdecision-support system with multiple model portfolio, you can choose different models withthe same datasor, the same models with different datas, or the different models with differentdatas to make different decision-support system program.According to the program structure form of model portfolio, one can easily construct and generate different decision-support program. A lot of models stored in the model base make itconvenient to choose different models. And a lot of datas stored in the model base make itconvenient to choose.The different models and datas are equivalent to different forms of building blocks, and thedecision-support system is equivalent to choose different model blocks and data blocks to buildinto a variety of decision-support systems for practical decision-making.Currently, the design program, using multiple models and database portfolio, hassuccessfully developed the sales-ecision-support system for metal material enterprises. Havingbeen put into use in the GLOBAL Building Materials Company Limited, the system could haveimproved profite assistant effect for computing multiple sales program, comparing and selectingthe results.
