Decision-making Knowledge Management To Support The Theoretical Methods And Support Systems

In an information-and-knowledge-exploding era,the traditional information management has been gradually developing to higher ranked knowledge management(KM).In this case,organizational decision-making is mainly based on knowledge and information.Here we begin the study of KM support(KMS)of decision-making also briefly because:(1)organizational knowledge is the basis of utilizing all kinds of resource validly,but knowledge is the most active clement in an enterprise,(2)organizational knowledge stands for the competence and potentiality,(3)decision-making is a process of knowledge creation.This study aims at:making clear the process, method,and mechanism of KMS of organizational decision-making,clarifying the application pattern and function law of knowledge in the process of decision-making,and completing the system consisting of theory,method, tactics,operational pattern,and content of KMS of organizational decision-making.Beyond this,an available scheme of group decision support system,KB-ODSS,which is based on KM and looks it as core raising decision-makers' knowledge level and enhancing their ability of decision-making,is designed in order to push GDSS forward.This essay closely integrates the theory,methodology and their development frontiers of KM and group decision-making in its theory study, but adversely,rather than the development frontier of GDSS,it takes much consideration of the real practice in the design process of KB-GDSS.This KB-ODSS has not only strong functions of knowledge processing and model-supporting(e.g.,prediction models,decision analysis models,group negotiation models),and model-producing based on knowledge,and has the functions of interpreting,understanding,man-machine communication and exercise,which is an important part of enhancing decision-maker's knowledge level and ability of employing GDSS in decision-making.This design is an ideal choice of GDSS for enterprise.Finally,this article completes the practice study combining with the big metallurgical enterprise,YUNNAN Aluminium Industry Co.,LTD.,by mainly analyzing and designing its KB-GDSS,methods and patterns of KMS.The core content and synthetic result of this study essay is embodied in:(1)Systematically clarifying the systematic composition,framework, content and principles of KMS of decision-making in enterprise,and clarifying the employment and its limitation of knowledge engineering,the analysis/design and control of decision-making behavior,essential elements, stages in group decision-making process,and the main points of KMS of strategic and executive decision-making,methods and tactics of KMS,and so on.This lays the necessary foundation of theory on KMS of decision-making.(2)A series of KMS patterns(e.g.,concept framework of organizational knowledge system,methodology model,strategy framework,functional model of decision-making,content and method framework,organizational structure framework,circuit pattern and supervision-control model)has been put forward,these patterns are mutually related,logic-complete synthetic system, and they actually construct basic model system that is easily operated of enterprise for decision-making,it will be useful for enterprise to recognize KM essentially,and for it to develop KMS activities.(3)In the light of those studies of methods and models/patterns aforementioned,guided by systematic thinking,this essay designs a relatively complete knowledge-based GDSS(KB-GDSS).On the technology condition of system-developing up-to-date,it can be as a good accord to develop a prototype of GDSS,it will not only support decision-making,but also promote decision-makers' knowledge level and ability in decision-making.
