The departments of Operation and Training, Political Work, Logistical Work andFire Protection are responsible to their respective work in the municipal fire unit. Inpractical work, data are gathered from different departments without unified dataexchange standards. Data gathering relies on time-consuming manual work. Themeans of data storage is to bind the reports and files together, which is an inconvenientand unsafe way with low degree of data-sharing and insufficient use. As data exchangevia telephone, paper reports and oral reports, the data processing cannot be efficientand accurate. Thus the staff personnel and the administrators have to spend muchenergy in tedious routine and repetitive work, like data gathering, arranging, sorting,calculating, tabulating and so on. This kind of work with high labor intensity preventsthe staff from carrying out creative administration and raising the management level.The backward analyzing means and data processing make it difficult to provide basisfor the prediction of developing tendency and decision-making.Aiming at these problems mentioned above, this paper analyses the Fire Safetyinformation management system from the respects of network platform construction,application software system development and proposes the preliminary design plan onthe basis of information technology.
