The Research On The Service Function Of School Libraries Promoted By Information Technology In The City Of Nanning

Information technology has developed rapidly and widely. The middle school libraries of Nanning as the school’s information center, as the teaching and research institutions of education and academic, is developing on the way to digitalized and networked. They have realized to use computer to automate buying、cataloging、circulating and retrieving books instead of manually, and they have adopted the virtual reference and personalization services and many other new forms of services. Networking and resource sharing has become a new form in the middle school libraries of Nanning.Although at present the middle school libraries of Nanning have had great progress comparing with the traditional library, but the service function of those libraries still exists many problems. So this paper puts forward the problems existing in the service function of Nanning middle school libraries at present through the research on the service function of Nanning middle school libraries and the demand of school library’s readers by the way of comprehensive using information and network search、questionnaire and so on.This paper also further sums up the strategy to solve the current main problems existing in the service function of Nanning middle school libraries through the analysis of the main factors of the influence to the service function of school libraries by the way of literature analysis and comprehensive induction, These strategies to solve problems is through the information technology. The specific performance is using the information technology to propagate school library, to search literature information, to develop reference service in many ways, to provide personalized service, to open the electronic reading room, to realize network resource integration and interlibrary loan and resource sharing and so on, so as to effectively improve the service function of Nanning middle school libraries in totally.
