The Study On Competency Model Among The Computer Major Students

The study analysed the literature of competency and competency model,with the survey questionnaire and BEI search the information, analyed the data and choose the key competency,then establish an open competency model of computer major students and assessed the level of computer major students’competency.The purpose of the reaserch is enhighing the ability of computer student and strengthing the compete of company. There are three studies enbrace:Study1:Choose the key competencies which can distinguish excellent students and ordinary students with methods of questionnaire and Behavior Event Interview then establish the initia competency model of computer major students.Study2:According to the test of reliability, validity, content, diversity and other aspects, proves that the pre-primary "computer major students’competency model self-assessment questionnaire" has good reliablity and validity. Then verify the model, it summarizes9traits and15competencies:self-confidence, Independence, achievement orientation, serious, flexibility, professional knowledge and skills, information gathering, understanding skills, logical reasoning, divergent thingking, initiative, interpersonal communication, operating practice, innovation, team amalgamation.Study3:By using "the self-evaluation questionnaire " to assess the level of computer major students’competency. The research shows that their competency level is comparatively satisfactory and meets the "basic compliance level". There are no significant differences in competency with genders,while grades are major significant factors to influence the competency level.
