With the daily improvement of technology, the combination of traditional audio visual industry and digital signal processing become more and more close. Achievements in digital signal processing are widely used in multimedia area which in turn greatly improves the multimedia industry. The application processing of digital audio effects system is a good example of in audio signal processing.Firstly, the improvement of digital audio effects processing is introduced in paper, then the structure of audio processing system is also described, then the main principle and working method are discussed in detail. The digital audio effects system based on DSP discussed and designed in this article can process the input signal fast and produce all kinds of audio effects which the can be selected and used easily with all the control parameters. More than eight audio effects have been implemented in the thesis, including delay, echo, chorus, flanger, vibrate, tremolo, reverb, phase, wah and distortion, the principles and realization of some kinds of audio effects are analysised in detail. Then, the paper introduces how to improve and realize all the algorithms on the DSP platform, including how to realize the current theoretic digital audio algorithm on hardware platform through optimization, how to upgrade the effect quality. At last, this paper proposes the diffrences of the performent testing method between audio effects and audio equality, and introduces the performent testing methods of audio effects in detail. The test results have shown that there is a large improvement to the performent of audio effects.Finally, a summary is made for the design of processing system, some deficiencies in audio performance is also pointed out; in addition, some improving methods and future research direction are also discussed.
