With the development of avionics electronic system, moving and sharing information between systems increase requirements of real-time and reliability. Further more, for both passenger entertainment and flexibility on maintenance, the common used avionics bus technology can not meet the needs. As a new generation of aircraft data network (AND) specification, ARINC664defines an Avionics Full-Duplex Ethernet (AFDX) in part7. AFDX adopts Commercial Off-The-Shelf(COTS) technology and open standards based on traditional Ethernet. It provides QoS guarantee and reliability for a point to point network through introducing Virtual Link(VL) technology.A switch solution compliant with ARINC664specification is presented in this thesis which is based on the application research project "Design and Implement of AFDX Switch". And at the same time, the design of several enhancements of Avionics network is raised. So the whole solution of the next generation avionics data bus is presented systemically.Firstly, the development history of the avionic bus is briefly introduced, and the cause, features, predominance and prospects of AFDX is described. ARINC664specification and Network Architecture is analyzed mainly. Then the hardware circuit design of the switch board is introduced in details, which including switch circuit and CPU control circuit, and the process of transplanting VxWorks operating system by modifying the BSP is described. And then the debugging and testing results of the switch are depicted. With the support of testing results, it is proved that the design of the whole switch is correct and achieves the requirement predefined. At last, based on the specification and the requirements of aerospace applications, the design of several enhancements of Avionics network is introduced, which including state transition of switch, fault detection, the end-system of switch and time synchronization of AFDX network.
