With the development of avionics technology, commonly used avionics bustechnology has difficulty to meet requirements of avionics electronic systems. It isnecessary to develop a new avionics communication network system for new avionicselectronic equipment communication urgently. ARINC664defines solution scheme forAFDX switch with real time and deterministic networks. It is a new generation ofavionics Ethernet standards.A switch solution compliant with ARINC664specification is presented in thisthesis which is based on the practice unit research project “AFDX Switch Design”. Theswitch can meet the needs of data transfer bandwidth and reliability for new generationavionics electronic equipment communication.Embeded End System of AFDX Switch is the key of configure manager forAFDX. According to ARINC664protocol, AFDX communication system functionscan be divided into mac layer, ip layer, udp layer, host interface layer. The hardwarelogic implements following part of Mac layer, software implements above part of maclayer. Software is mainly responsibles for configure manager of switch, modelmanager protocol stack process and providing a uniform interface for the upperapplication. Finally, test solution of AFDX switch chip based on FPGA is presented.The solution mainly includes base resource test, function model test, protocolconformance test. Test results show that function model of AFDX switch is right andmeet requirements for performance of ARINC664protocol.
