Abstract/Summary:
Recent years, with the rapid development of the wireless communication technology, high transmission rate, low cost became the development tendency of the current mobile communication systems (3G,4G, etc.) and various wireless access methods (wireless LAN, WiMAX, Bluetooth, etc) and the Internet of things. The more complex data’s modulation patten becomes, the higher requirments the RF integrate circuit are. The radio frequency power ampilifier which is one of the most important modules in the radio frequency consμmes the most power of the radio frequency circuit. The efficiency of the radio transceiver system depends on the efficiency of the power amplifier. The low noise ampilifier and voltage-controlled oscillator of the transceiver are well integrated on the CMOS process, even integrated with digital circuit, anolog port as a SoC. It is the tendency to integrate the power ampilifier to the CMOS process in order to realize higher integrated density. However, the low breakdown voltage, low transconductance of the active component and the high dissipation, low quality of the passive component become the difficulties to realize the high reliability of the power amplifier. So to realize high linearity, high power, and high efficiency of the power amplifier are the new challenges in RFIC design. And it is the heat whatever inland or outland. The voltage-controlled oscillator as an important part of the phase lock loop is another heat topic.Firstly, the power amplifier was introduced the state of the field of, and the theory of the power amplifier was introduced, and was designed which is targeted for2.45GHz WLNA application. The self-baised and predistortion linearization technology was used in the design of the power amplifier, which improved the breakdown voltage of the NMOSFET, and the linearity of the circuit. Meanwhile, the module of every stage of the power amplifer, the theory and design rule, and the function of each power amplifier were discussed in details. The power amplifier was simulated with ADS, and the results of the simulated were presented. Secondly, a kind of LC voltage-controlled oscillator was designed, the diffierenct modules of the LC voltage-controlled oscillator were discussed, include the tail current source, cross coupling MOSFETS, the LC resonant network, the LC filter, and the buffer of the VCO. The LC filter was used to reducd the phasenoise of the VCO. The circuit was simulated with the spectreRF of the Cadence software. And the results of the simulated were presented At last, the layout of the power amplifier and VCO were designed by virtuoso of the Cadence software, and through the check-up of DRC and LVS.
