With the repaid development of information technology and wide application of informationtechnology for its unprecedented rapid trend of permeate politic, economy and culture, educationinformation is swift and violent. Developing information education, it is now a question that isworth cultivating information literacy of students through the course by researchers and all ITteachers.Nowadays, most of the research about information technology education in our countrybelongs to the form of teaching organizing and teaching method. Task-based approach is animportant subject of national teaching research at the end of the twentieth century,and it iscommon to be used in the teaching of Visual Basic program(Simply referred to as VB). In orderto probe the proper teaching method of information technology course of Yantai Economic andTechnological Development Zone Experimental Junior High School, the writer designs theexperiment about application of task-driven teaching method in information technology courseof middle school. During the middle school, Visual Basic program is the required course for thestudents of Grade Three. So exploring the application of task-based approach which is used inVB teaching, making the guiding role of teachers and the principal position of the students exertfully and making the intelligence and ability of students play full development are valuableresearch topics to adapt the new course reform and develop creative talent. In this paper, throughthe experiment, questionnaire survey and documentary method to task-driven teaching VBcourses in middle school, the application of a more detailed analysis and research, combinedwith personal experience of teaching the writer of task-driven teaching the specificimplementation and strategies to explore, validate the task-driven teaching VB courses in middleschool, the feasibility of the application come to the task-driven teaching can effectively improvethe effect of middle school teaching of VB to stimulate student interest in learning, improvestudent learning efficiency and will help student information, innovative spirit and practicalability to conclusions.The main method of the study is experiment, questionnaire survey. I selected students ofclass5of grade8of Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone ExperimentalJunior High School as experimental class, the task-driven approach is practiced; class6of grade8students as control class, traditional teaching methods is used. Before the experiment, Itook”ordinary middle school courses in information technology standards” for reference, tookmodern education theory and the study theory as sustaining, connected with the actual situation of VB teaching of the school to form a detail teaching design and compiled evaluationquantitative rules and pre-test and post-test question. In the experiment, to achieve real andeffective data the author took all the relevant factors into account and had a better control tothem. After the experiment, the writer conducted a questionnaire survey on the performance oftheir students and scientific analysis.First of all, it analyzes the current situation of IT teaching in China and abroad, point theDuty-driving method. The second part, it analyzes the characteristic of VB course and currentsituation of IT teaching. The important theoretical basis of Duty-driving method containsconstructivism learning theory, motivation theory and humanist learning theory. The third part,based on the above, it use task-based approach to research and practice VB teaching. It studieshow to design the task with concrete implementation steps. The fourth part is teaching design,take《Design Adder》and《Cycle count---For Next》for examples. The fifth is experiment, withthe practice of teaching, we know the necessity and specific application of task-based approachthat used in VB teaching and also this paper points out the shortage of the teaching. In the end,the paper point out it faced innovation and development.
