The integrative system for production and sales of steel plate covers all the procedures in the areas of steel making and steel plate system. It comprises making sale management (inc. sales activity and finance), ex-works management, cost management, MES for steel making and MES for steel plate rolling. Of which designing and realizing MES is the most important. This project is designed to strengthen planed production, reduce non-planed production, lower production of surplus, optimize production dispatching and minimize the period length needed to keep products in the warehouse.The design and realization described in this paper making include:First of all, with a great many documents as reference, the background of present MES, its current situation in China and abroad, and its necessity in metallurgical manufacturing industry is analyzed.Secondly, detailed analysis and study on the demanded for the integrated system in the fields of production process, business scope, basic automation system and process control system are made.Thirdly, through studies are conducted on technological process and operational procedures, horizontally covering all the links of supply, production, sales, quality, finance, cost, plan and project management; vertically covering basic equipment, production, line and manufacturing execution system, and applicable functioning procedures and a general structure are designed for integrated information system structure and the system of production and sales.Fourthly, according to the analysis of business demand and general structure, the system function is divided into the management sales, quality, material tracking, warehouse, ex-works, tools, rollers, cost and system. A thorough study on business procedure, functional gradation diagram and applicable function to be realized by each block in the applicable system is made.Fifthly, according to business demand, a detailed design is made on the hardware for the whole system of production and sales, including selection of equipment, network setting, integrated system, host system, storage system and safety strategy.
