With the extensive application of GIS and improvement of computer networks, the network of2D GIS is no longer able to satisfy the requirements of their applications, thus creating a network of3D GIS. In China coal industry, mining network3D GIS will also be increasingly valued, which will play a more and more important role in the promotion of the development of China’s coal industry. Among the research of GIS and its application, three-dimensional expression and analysis and visualization of spatial entities is an important research direction, in which spatial entities such as orebody, roadway, faults, shaft and other three-dimensional topology model is difficult problem. And the underground mining roadway is the most important part of the system, but since it is complicated, the realization of three-dimensional Web visualization roadway is necessary.As network3D GIS is a combination of network technology and3D technology, the paper first introduces the Web3D technology, and compares different technologies, and finally choses O3D technology. Secondly, it makes a detailed analysis of the mine map file with a DXF format,and according to the roadway information, designs a file with a XML, an the intermediate file to store2D roadway information, And elevation should be added to XML in a certion way, thus realizing the storage of3D roadway information.Thirdly, as for a large number of XML documents, the paper compares to several databases, in order to facilitate the management, and proposes relational database based on XML to store and manage XML documents. Finally, according to the data structure of roadway, the paper designs3D data model, and use O3D language to achieve the web-visualization of3D roadway. And in order to make effect more realisitic, a texture mapping technique is achieved, at the same time, it also provides interactive functions, enabling users pan, zoom and rotate roadway.Various research and development realize the transformation from the2D mine map to the3D format, and web-visualization of3D roadway and platform independence, which have a good reference value and the realitic significance for the construction of coal mine WebGIS system.
