Product Data Management with the develoment of network information technology and database technology, PDM technology has been widely used. PDM technology has grown mature, In the current all PDM products are not produced their own messages within the system to notice. This topic based on SD-PDMS2.0, introduction the concept of instant messaging, and studying the instant messaging.Instant Messaging of Product Data Management (abbreviation PDM MSG.) Based on the in-depth studying the features of instant messaging, this topic analysis the process from creation to the entires of instant messaging detailed, and combined with the features of it, provides a set of solutions,for the the key technical issues exist in PDM MSG systems. The program’s view coming from system, and solution the problem of notify in the PDM fundamental.Through the comparison between two layers and three layers, the results show that the use of three-tier structure has obvious advantages, so used three-tier structure to achieve PDM MSG PDM MSG use a separate instant messaging client (PDM MSG Client) to complete the eXPression-layer of three-layer structure. The business logic-layer in the middle completed by the application server (PDM MSG Server), the data-layer achieved by using the database (DB Server).The Instant message of product data management is simply called PDM MSGBased on the in-depth study the features of instant message, the paper analyzes the whole process of instant message from creation to perish, combines the features of instant message, againsts the problems of PDM MSG system, proposes a solution. The solution could fundamentally solves the message notification problem of PDM from the view of system.The process of instant message should ensure to be fast, accurate, safe, reliable, the specific contents contain the following four aspects:To ensure the data transmission security, use the encrypted data communication between the PDM MSG client and PDM MSG server.Check the data transmission integrity to ensure the data reliability. Use the efficient database connectivity engines between PDM MSG server and database.PDM MSG server is responsible for the collection and distribution of information etc, all data is stored in memory, the structure definition of message is calculated by bytes, which could ensure the high speed scanning when the data amounts needed to propose are huge.The study is combined with the application of PDM MSG instance, shown the implementation process of instant messaging process of product data management, and maked the stress testing of PDM MSG.Finally the study discusses the integration of PDM MSG and the original PDM system.
