Design And Implementation Of A Bachelor Degree Program Development And Management System For Higher Institutions

In recent years, higher education in our country has transformed progressively from elite education to popular education."How to cultivate qualified people" and "Which kind of people to be cultivated" become the primary issues faced by the higher institutions. At the same time, as the requirements for the comprehensive quality and innovation ability of the talents from the society are increasing continuously, new requirements for talent cultivation programs are raised consequently.The bachelor degree program development and management system for higher institutions is an important part of the teaching management and information system in colleges and universities, and is also a key link to improve quality and effectiveness in teaching management. As the pedagogical reforms are carried forward further, the continuous increase of teaching management requirements and the rapid development of computer technology, efforts for informatization construction in colleges and universities are intensified year by year.Based on "Struts3+Spring2+Hibernate2Struts (SSH Struts)" and combined with the requirements from the bachelor degree program development and management system of Northeastern University, a new bachelor degree program development and management system is developed, aiming at improving the reusability, maintainability, expandability and security of the system.The main accomplishments of this paper are as follows.(1) Combined with the principles of bachelor degree program development for higher institutions and the functional requirements for bachelor degree program development and management system from the teaching management administration of Northeastern University, the system requirements analysis is accomplished. And based on this analysis, the system function design and database design are accomplished.(2) Using the hardware and software environment developed by the SSH Struts architecture design system as well as the system operating environment, starting with the system interface, the management functions and part of the business functions, the implementation of the system is presented in detail and part of the important stages of the development are presented. At last, the installation and running tests of the system are introduced.(3) By analyzing the system, system security strategy and assurance measures are provided. At the same time, preliminary discussion on SQL Server data security is given.This system has passed tests and trial operation. The development of this system will help achieve the paperless office processing of the bachelor degree program development and management system, solve the security problems of the system, information and database, realize Word document automatic generation of bachelor degree program prospectus, and accomplish data sharing and seamless connection with the present teaching management system.
