With the development of3G network, there are more and more service of3G comes out. Wireless Internet access is one of which bring people much convenience. We have to use a media called wireless network card to connect PC and the3G network. In this paper, the background of3G is introduced first, then, the concept and the use of the wireless network card is imported. By the research of users’ need, software architecture of the wireless network card is builded in this paper. The research of this paper focuses on the network connection module. There are two methods to realize network connection:RAS and NDIS.In this paper, the characteristic of NDIS is researched. Depending on the WDS command which is provided by Qualcomm, the network connection module of NDIS is designed and realized. In this part of code, the WDS command used to connect network can be send to modem and the response of WDS command can be parsed to get the result of connection. The other method, RAS, the theory and correlation protocal are researched in this paper. This method depends on RAS API provided by WIN32. Besides, AT command plays an important role in network connection module of RAS, so sending and parsing AT command is realized in network connection module.Up to now, these two methods of network connection are both realized in wireless network card. These two methods are applicated on many projects and users reflects very well.
