Wireless Network Card Driver Design And Technology Research

Mobile Ad hoc Network is a new type of wireless network, which can be used as an independent network system, and it can be used as an accessing network of Internet to support mobile IP service. If a Windows2000/XP host system accesses a Mobile Ad hoc Network, it need install a special wireless network interface card. Usually the wireless network interface card is always self-produced, it's necessary to develop a special driver for special network card.This paper focuses on the key technology of network driver development involved in Windows2000/XP system, and the development of USB wireless network interface card driver. It needs a profound comprehension about programming Applications for Windows2000/Xp, driver programming and other related technologies. In this paper, the main works and achievements are as follows:1. In this paper, there is an in-depth research on the technology of network driver development based on Windows2000/XP system, and it provides necessary technology foundation for designing and implementing wireless network interface card driver.2. This paper designs and implements a USB wireless network card driver based on Windows2000/XP system, which combine Ad hoc network card with Windows2000 operation system, thereby implementing data transport between Ad hoc network card and upper layer software.3. This paper designs and implements Tunnel Driver based on Windows2000. The Tunnel Driver provides intercepting data package function. This function includes capturing data package from wireless network card, processing the data, and transports the data to ULP driver or under-layer NIC through NDIS.4. This paper discusses some issues including compile, install, debug and packaging, which have important effect on driver development.
