The Reahzation Arid Verification Of PCI Express Specification

In the nearly30years, the computer industry has achieved great development, thecomputer processor and the bus performance has a very big growth. But in contrast, busperformance increases can not satisfy the processor request, so bus become one of thebottlenecks of computer performance. In order to solve this problem, a variety of thethird generation of fieldbus technology appears. PCI Express is a representative of thethird generation of the bus, with high bus frequency, external pin count, low latency andhigh reliability. PCI Express has wide application in abroad and has introduced anumber of mature PCI Express chip. but in China,this technology development is verybackward.This paper is directed at the third generation of PCI Express bus protocolimplementation and verification.Frist introduce the PCI Express background anddevelopment situation, and then analyzes the PCI Express protocol, to extract therelevant PCI Express realization of the key technology.After this, the specific realizationof PCI Express protocol, has been shown and in order to test the PCI Express’s featuresand key technologies,we do the functional verification, protocol conformanceverification, coverage verification of PCI Express IP. Verification results show that PCIExpress IP implementation fully meet the requirements of the agreement.
