Now road transportation vehicle is increasing year by year and the logistics industryis rapid development in our country, so our country highway traffic accidents are alsoincreasing year by year. Either in the national related departments or road transport operatorsare trying to find a convenient and quick method to manage and test the road transportvehicles. For road transport operations, generally faced with such choices, in order to meetthe requirements of traffic administration, you must install the car recorder, in order to satisfythe requirement of transportation management department and must be installed vehicle GPScar terminal. Then you must install two on-board equipment for one vehicle, whichundoubtedly increased the operating costs for operating company, on the other hand, due tolack of unified standards, the on-board equipment in the market often appeared two questions,different devices can not compatible with each other and information can’t sharing. To this,the ministry of transport highway research institute standards for road transport vehiclepositioning system platform:<road transport vehicle positioning system platform technologyrequirements> has set up a in August1,2011formally implemented. This thesis designs ofvehicle terminal system under the background of the development, in an attempt to integratethe function of the vehicle traveling data recorder and vehicle GPS car terminal.The first, this system detect the vehicle CAN bus data, GPS positioning information anddriver’s identity, at the same time, retrieve and store these data information. According tocertain communication protocols through a wireless3g network to a remote service center,for the state of the vehicle real-time reliable basis for judgment, maintenance; Secondly, thesystem also has car online, the phone call or answer, SMS modify IP, camera, recording, TTS(Test To Speech), fault diagnosis, self-test of the terminal equipment, driver fatigue detectionbroken network reconnection, provides more services for vehicles. The functions above iseventual realization after nearly a year of design and development.After reading a large number of related fields at home and abroad on the basis of theresearch background and related technology, the system used in the process of theimplementation of many of the advanced technology and excellent ideas, including theoperating system Linux multitasking programming techniques, advanced embedded databaseaccess technology, speech synthesis technology, multi-protocol integration thought, functionmodular thought, etc.The main work accomplished in this paper can be divided into the following severalparts.1) Describes the overall design of the data collection terminal and show the overallstructure of framework of the terminal both from the hardware selection and softwarearchitecture design.2) Describe the design and implementation of the database in the datacollection terminal. Using the embedded database SQLite software and through the custom database table to meet requirements specification in the data storage portion of the terminal.3)describe the data-collection system‘s function design and implementation. The features in thedata collection terminal features include: CAN data and GPS data acquisition and storage,3Gnetwork communication, camera, phone, SMS, voice reminders, fault diagnosis, as well asdriver identification function.4) data collection terminal for functionality and robustness test.The terminal has been well verified from unit testing to integration testing under the systemtest process.
