With the rapid development of our economy, our country now has become a bigautomobile manufacturer and has very large sales, and this trend is offering a bigchallenge. Although the sales of car-produced company are increasing smoothly, thefunctions of the various departments are more and more specialized, there are a lot ofproblems to be solved, such as the ineffective communication between themanufacturing companies and distributors, the inaccurate collection of inventoryinformation, the low-efficiency data sharing between the headquarters and theafter-sale service networks, all these are making it difficult to have a bettermanagement during the process of car sales, thus weakening ability to makejudgments about market trends and the ability to react. So we need to apply DMS(Dealer Management System) in order to improve efficiency. The automobilemanufacturing companies and distributors will have better data access and betterdata-sharing and interaction using this platform which will lead to better managementand success.This paper analyses the inadequacies of the car-sale business and conducts adetailed needs analysis, and propose effective solutions and designs for the DMSplatform, and then implement it. This platform consists of nine modules, which areOrder Management Module, Planning Management Module, Storage ManagementModule, Distributor inventory and Customer Information Management Module,Financial Management Module, Marketing Management Module, NoticeManagement Module, Statistical Statement Module and Function ManagementModule.The features of the Planning Management Module is to develop sales targetsbetween OEMs and distributors and forecast monthly and annual sales. Order Management module will handle the related matters when there are orders generated.Storage Management Module include vehicles inventory management andtransportation management. Distributor inventory and Customer InformationManagement Module will process vehicle acceptance after transportation and thefunctions of collection and management of customers’ information. The FinancialManagement module will manage different kinds of available funds of dealers. Thetarget of Marketing Management Module is to manage market activities such asmanagement and collection of market information. The Notice Management Modulewill be used to handle the notification activities between OEMs and dealers, andStatistical Statement Module will analyses the data submitted by dealers.
